Congratulations to our founder, Joanne Canellos, for being the recipient of the Volunteer Impact Award at the Capital Caring Gala in April. This is the second award she has received for her volunteering over the past 6 years. In 2023, she was the proud recipient of the Executive Leadership Award, which she was awarded for based on her forming and chairing of the Volunteer Pediatric Committee for Capital Caring Kids
Introducing our newest program, Petals and Promises.
This program provides beautiful flowers along with a coffee treat to brighten a family’s day and remind them they care cared for! The petals bring a smile, but the promise is ours to the family to provide support, resources and to ensure the family is never alone. Refer a family today that might like a visit!

These baskets are tailored specifically to a family’s need. They include comfort items, gifts for the patient and siblings and gift cards for mom and dad to ease a day of cooking. Refer a family today that could use a little extra LOVE!
Wolf Trap Show and Picnic Coming Soon!
Mark your calendars for August 14th for a show at the Children’s Theatre in the Woods at Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA, The musical will be “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!” We will also provide a picnic lunch so families can enjoy a whole day at the park! RSVP information coming soon

Generosity in Action
We are excited to partner with Christmas Tree Santas who are donating 150 Live trees to families in our community with pediatric patients in hospice care as well as bereaved families. They also provide tree stands and ornaments! CJ’s Pediatric Promise Fund is providing each family with 2 boxes of lights!
